In a competitive final round, Canadian Brooke Henderson completed her victory at the 2022 Evian Championship to capture her second career major and 12th LPGA title.
Henderson holed a clutch birdie on the 18th to finish with a final-round even par. She would end the tournament at an overall 17 under.
Entering Sunday with a two-shot lead, Henderson would see that evaporate after a bogey and double bogey on the first and sixth holes, respectively, but would bounce back with a birdie on the seventh.
Trailing by stroke heading into the par-3 14th, Henderson got a favourable roll on her tee shot to set up a birdie putt to tie Sei Young Kim, Mao Saigo and Sophia Schubert for the lead. The Canadian would go on to birdie the par-5 15th.
The Smith Falls, Ont., native takes home her first major since the 2016 Women’s PGA Championship.
