Vancouver Canucks captain Bo Horvat said the changes the team made to the leadership group Sunday were difficult to see, but were also necessary to help get them back on track.
“It’s never easy to see people like that go,” Horvat said Monday while thanking departed GM Jim Benning and head coach Travis Green for their roles in his career. “I think our team needed a spark … but at the same time, we have to go out there and prove it now.”
The Canucks fired Benning, Green and others Sunday and hired Bruce Boudreau as the team’s new head coach after a 8-15-2 start to the season that sees them sitting in the basement of the Pacific Division entering play Monday.
More to come…
