Los Angeles Clippers star Kawhi Leonard is not on the team’s injury report, meaning he’ll play on Tuesday for just the second time at Scotiabank Arena since leaving the Toronto Raptors following the team’s 2019 championship run.
Leonard did not play Monday against the Detroit Pistons in the first half of a back-to-back because of right knee injury management.
Leonard has played in just 13 of the team’s 35 games this season as the Clippers (20-15) try to keep the six-foot-seven forward healthy.
Leonard’s last game in Toronto was Dec. 11, 2019, months after he signed with the Clippers. The Raptors presented Leonard with his championship ring that night and he received a thunderous ovation.
Leonard is averaging 16.3 points and 5.9 rebounds.
Norman Powell, another member of the Raptors’ championship team, also comes back to an old home as a member of the Clippers.
Powell is averaging 15.1 points and 2.8 rebounds this season. It will mark Powell’s first game in Toronto as a member of an opposing team.
The Portland Trail Blazers traded Powell to the Clippers in Febuary.
The Clippers will also be missing John Wall (left knee injury management). Precious Achiuwa (right ankle) is doubtful for the Raptors, while Otto Porter Jr. (left foot) is out.
Watch Tuesday’s Raptors-Clippers game at 7:30 p.m. ET / 4:30 p.m. PT on Sportsnet ONE or SN NOW.
The game begins a stretch of nine of 10 at home for Toronto (15-18), which is 10th in the Eastern Conference standings.
