COS Coats Are Top Tier—22 Styles That Have Impressed Me This Autumn

When it comes to outerwear, you can never be too keen in your search for finding ‘the one’. The fact is, coats are often the first items to start dropping in for autumn, so you have to be quick off the mark to secure the best styles. Just look at that Mango shearling jacket, for example. it was only online for a matter of hours before it had the dreaded ‘not in stock’ label (it’s coming back soon, FYI.) And in previous years, both Tôteme’s scarf coats and The Frankie Shop’s quilted iterations have had to be restocked multiple times due to the increasing demand. And while we’re all for a It coat, we also like to stick to the brands that consistently serve up classic, timeless and stylish outwear collections, and for this we always head to COS.

With its clean aesthetic and fuss-free mantra, COS is of course a destination for minimalists. Excelling in everything from crisp shirting to love-forever knitwear, tailored trousers, and of course coats, it’s basically a one-stop-shop to pick up all your elevated basics. But with a mix of silhouettes and a plethora of coloured and neutral iterations, it can be tricky to narrow it down to just one COS coat we expect to see everywhere this season. So, instead, we’re going to show you 18 that have garnered the attention of every editor in our office. From the classic belted camel coat to leather iterations, these are the high street coats with a difference this season.

A classic camel coat is tricky to beat in the style stakes.

One word: Wow. Be prepared for everyone to ask you where you got this one from.

This puffer is made from recycled materials and filled with planet-friendly padding.

Funnel necks are so chic.

Like the LBD, a black coat will never fail you.

I love the glossy green update on the humble puffer.

Wear it at the weekends, to work and on a night out.

A great trench will serve you well for years, even decades.

Trust us, this is as soft as it looks.

A classic.

Ok, this isn’t quite coat, but we just had to include this amazing cape.

This quilted beauty also comes with a belt so you can cinch it in at the waist.

I love a grey coat for a chic alternative to black.

Don’t you think this wool style looks so much more expensive than it is?

Go for top-to-toe tonal with a cream roll neck, ecru jeans and beige boots.

A navy trench has such a Parisian feel don’t you think?

This ruffle detail coat looks more high end than high street.

Just add this over any chunky knit with jeans.

Scarf coats will always have a special place in my heart.

COS is really pulling it out of the bag with its leather styles this season.

A short coat is such a great addition to your wardrobe and I love this double-breasted style.

Yes you read that right, this coat is made from 100% recycled cashmere.
