On top of losing 19-3 to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the Dallas Cowboys lost their quarterback on Sunday night.
Dak Prescott will undergo hand surgery and be out several weeks, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said following the game.
Prescott left the game late in the fourth quarter after hitting his throwing hand on Buccaneers linebacker Shaq Barrett’s hand during a passing attempt.
Prescott ran to the sideline where trainers looked at his right hand before heading down the tunnel to get X-rays.
Before sustaining the injury Prescott was struggling, completing 14 of 29 passes for 134 yards and throwing one interception.
With Prescott out, Cooper Rush will take over quarterback duties.
