The Boston Bruins have made a big boost to their centre depth.
Elias Lindholm has agreed to join the Bruins on a seven-year deal with an average annual value of $7.75 million.
Lindholm, 29, finished the 2023-24 season with the Vancouver Canucks after a January trade from the Calgary Flames.
Overall, his offensive numbers dipped and he had 15 goals and 44 points in 75 games, his lowest totals since 2017-18. He did follow that up with five goals and 10 points in 13 playoff games, including two game-winning goals.
There was some speculation that contract uncertainty contributed to Lindholm’s dip in production this season. Now that he has found a home, he will have a chance to settle in and return to his place among the more reliable centres in the NHL.
