- Summer tour of North America has been switched to home soil
- Saxons revived as England A and will play Scotland A in June
The Rugby Football Union is hopeful Twickenham will be 50% full for England’s summer Tests against the USA and Canada in July after confirming the decision to switch the proposed tour of North America to home soil.
Subject to government guidance, the RFU is optimistic of being allowed to admit 41,000 supporters for the matches against the USA – which will take place on 4 July – and Canada on 10 July. An England A fixture has also been arranged for the first time in five years with Scotland A due at Welford Road on Sunday 27 June. The RFU has decided to revert back to “A” – instead of Saxons – but it is understood any debutants who appear for Eddie Jones’s side will still be tied to England.
