Five withdraw over Covid-19 links but Travelers Championship goes ahead

  • Caddies of Brooks Koepka and Graeme McDowell test positive
  • Cameron Champ, Chase Koepka and Webb Simpson also pull out

The PGA Tour plans to press ahead with the Travelers Championship despite the number of enforced withdrawals linked to Covid-19 rising to five.

After Cameron Champ tested positive for coronavirus on Monday, the caddies of Brooks Koepka and Graeme McDowell did likewise a day later. Both players withdrew. Koepka’s brother, Chase, who was also in the field in Connecticut, did likewise as a safety measure as did Webb Simpson, who revealed a member of his family had undergone a positive test.
