The Calgary Flames have agreed to trade star goaltender Jacob Markstrom to the New Jersey Devils, Sportsnet can confirm.
Markstrom, 34, is headed into the fifth season of a six-year, $36 million contract he signed with the Flames in 2020 and will need to waive his no-move clause to allow this trade to be completed.
He has been among the top goalies in the NHL since joining Calgary and was a finalist for the Vezina in 2021-22. This past season, Markstrom had a .905 save percentage and a 23-23-2 record.
