The Calgary Flames have agreed to trade veteran defenceman Chris Tanev to the Dallas Stars, Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman reported Wednesday.
Tanev becomes the third pending UFA on the Flames roster to be dealt this season. The team traded Nikita Zadorov and Elias Lindholm to the Vancouver Canucks in separate deals.
The Flames currently sit five points points out of a playoff spot and are on a four-game winning streak.
The 34-year-old Tanev is in the final year of a four-year, $18 million deal he signed with the Flames in 2020.
