From Mango to M&S—These 20 Shearling Coats Look the Most Premium

Unless you’ve been taking a break from social media, you will have noticed that for the last few weeks, one coat in particular has been dominating your feed. Mango’s Faux Shearling Jacket sold out just as quickly as it was restocked (and then sold out again), and the lucky few who did manage to get their hands on it will have noticed the jacket’s similarity to Totême’s equally evasive jacket (pictured below on Claudia Berresford) which is approximately 10 times the cost of the high-street doppelgänger. If the success of these best sellers tells us anything, it’s that we’re ready for cosy-coat season, and nothing says “comfort first” more than an indulgently soft, fluffy shearling coat.

You might be thinking that such an expensive-looking coat will inevitably come with a hefty price tag, but fear not, reader. There is a whole host of brand-new shearling coats making their way onto the high street, and they all look just as good as any designer offering.

Whether you’re looking for a longline maxi coat or a shearling-lined jacket, I’ve searched through shops, social feeds and the Who What Wear editor group chat for the next big coat, and I’m pleased to say that I’ve put together a cuddly edit that won’t disappoint. Now is as good a time as any to invest in the coat you’ll be wearing for the rest of the year (and into the next). Keep scrolling for the best high-street shearling coats and jackets available now.

A cosy jacket you can layer under a bigger woollen style or over knitwear.

Imagine this over a chunky roll neck and leggings.

I can’t wait to wear this over the holiday period.

Zara’s jacket game is so strong this season.

Yes, it’s an investment, but I just know you’ll love and wear this for years to come.

Collarless styles are so popular right now, and we can see why. This one would look particularly good over a floral midi dress with knee-high boots.

The best thing about this COS coat (other than the relaxed fit) is its sustainable credentials. It comes crafted from recycled polyester to reduce wastage.

The whole team love this Topshop jacket.

Wear with flared jeans and heeled boots for a 70s feel.

No words needed.

Can you tell I’m obsessed with finding the perfect teddy? This version is up there.

This biker speaks for itself.

Another cosy collarless style that has caught our eye is this one from M&S.

This coat looks deceptively designer but you can pick it up in your local Zara.

I can picture this coat in almost any setting: weekend walks, coastal staycation, coffee dates, cosy commute. If you need an everyday coat, here it is.

A zip! And real pockets! Need I say more?

Now this is a luxurious coat. It’s definitely more expensive than we would expect from a high-street brand, but the quality of the fabrication speaks for itself.

A longline belted coat + knee-high boots = the only thing you’ll want to wear for the rest of autumn.

This vegan jacket from Hollister proves that you don’t have to use real leather or fur to get the best-looking results.

Another reversible option that comes leather lined, so not only can you wear it with a waterproof exterior, but it’s guaranteed to keep you warm too.

Act quickly, Boden is becoming quite the hidden gem for its coat collection this season, but once word gets out, this biker is sure to be a best seller.
