From Rosie's Perfect Dress to Alexa's It Bag, Here's What Celebs Are Wearing Now

From Katie Holmes’s dedication to anti-skinny jeans through to Holly Willoughby’s extensive dress collection, there are still a handful of key celebrities we look to these days for direct style advice despite the fact that the influencer world provides us with plenty of inspiration. Some A-listers’ wardrobes are too stage-ready to feel relatable to real life (during lockdown or otherwise) while others deliver the kind of casual, off-duty ensembles we can actually note down for future styling reference or use to catalogue which designer items are worth investing in. After all, these are people with no shortage of luxury items being passed their way, so what they choose to actually share and wear is of some significance.

As the new season is now in full swing we thought it a good moment to take a look at the women who we follow most closely and to decipher the key designer items they’ve placed bets on for spring and beyond. From the new designer bags favoured by Alexa Chung and Dua Lipa through to the loveliest throw-on dresses that Kendall Jenner and Rosie Huntington Whiteley have given their stamp of approval to, here are the luxury celebrity buys we’re genuinely interested in…

Bottega Veneta’s rebooted bag collection has been popular for some time now, but this padded and woven Cassette style has seen an increase in searches lately. According to Lyst, shoppers have made the green version of this one of the most clicked-on designer bags of late, but now that Dua Lipa has opted for this rad shade of lilac, I wonder if the data might change?

If you aren’t yet following Iris Law (daughter of Jude Law and Sadie Frost) on Instagram yet, then I urge you to in order to stay up to date on what London’s cool young things are wearing. So it’s a yes from her to quadruple denim, inspired by the green and denim tie-dye mini Caro bag from Dior—the brand’s key style for the season.

We all associate Alexa with her namesake bag at Mulberry, but she’s a Gucci girl too, you know. Here she carries the monogrammed Gucci Dionysus, a silhouette that came out a few seasons back yet still looks just as desirable now. The neutral beige-on-beige colourway makes it a timeless choice.

Here, Rosie Huntingon-Whitely is actually showcasing her shoe collaboration with Gia Couture Firenze. The flat sandals and heels are all divine, but we couldn’t help being distracted by this gorgeous white off-the-shoulder dress from Proenza Schouler.

We’re more accustomed to seeing Kendall Jenner in athleisure or seriously skimpy beachwear, but the internet fell in love with this more romantic look from the model last week. Her exact dress has now sold out, but Rodarte’s dreamy aesthetic means there are plenty of alternative options to shop from.

Stacey Dooley is an advocate for sustainability in fashion, so it’s no surprise that she actually hired this gorgeous dress. She used the fashion rental platform Hurr (a favourite of team Who What Wear’s) and cherry-picked the gorgeous Prima dress from Aje—aka the dress brand everyone’s talking about right now. You can rent the very same style for yourself or invest in one of the label’s beautiful creations if you’ve fallen totally in love.

We are not worthy! Laura Harrier’s birthday look was basically the flame emoji in outfit form. From the Paco Rabanne gold chainmail bag (and hair clips to highlight it) to the swishy scarlet dress right down to the turquoise Versace mules, it’s 100% yes from us.

As soon as Rihanna wore this fan-tas-tic outfit last week we knew it needed to be bookmarked immediately. We’ll have to wait for summer to recreate it (and probably save up for a while for that Celine shirt…) but regardless, it is fantastic. Her shoe choice? Sassy curved heels from an A list hot-ticket, Amina Muaddi.

When it comes to flat shoes, TV presenter Angela Scanlon has become something of an unofficial guru. These lovely slip-on numbers are from Sleeper, and we want to live in them for the foreseeable future. You’ll know the brand for their iconic feather-trimmed pjs, but they also offer a range of slipper-like shoes to carry on the theme.

Next up, the big sandal trends of the year.
