Golden Knights outlast Canucks in Game 7, advance to Conference Final

The Vegas Golden Knights emerged with a 3-0 victory in a grueling Game 7 against the Vancouver Canucks on Friday to advance to the Western Conference Final.

Defenceman Shea Theodore scored the winning goal on a shot through traffic with only 6:08 left in the third period. The Golden Knights outshot the Canucks, 36-15.

Canucks backup goalie Thatcher Demko continued his stellar play in a third consecutive elimination game, stopping 33 shots. He stopped 130 of 132 shots (.985) during the series.

With Friday’s win, the top-seeded Golden Knights advance to face the Dallas Stars, who needed overtime to defeat the Colorado Avalanche earlier in the day.

More to come.
