Leon Draisaitl scored four goals, the second player to do that these playoffs in as many days, but it wasn’t enough as the visiting Edmonton Oilers were taken down 6-4 by the Vegas Golden Knights.
Draisaitl opened the scoring early in the first period on the power play, but the Golden Knights responded quick and often, potting three more before the end of the first.
With the Golden Knights restoring their two-goal lead well into the third period, Draisaitl — who has been near unstoppable these playoffs with 11 goals in seven games — hit the back of the net with his fourth of the evening. This marks back-to-back nights that a player has four goals in a game, with Dallas Stars veteran Joe Pavelski completing the feat in the 5-4 loss to the Seattle Kraken.
Despite Draisaitl’s impressive performance, the Golden Knights were able to maintain the lead and will head into Game 2 with the 1-0 series lead.
