Here's What Our Editors Are Adding To Their Shopping Baskets This Spring

I hate to brag, but I really think that team Who What Wear has rather exceptional taste. I mean, it is our job to keep on top of the latest styles and shopping shifts, and while you think that might make us buy more, in fact the opposite is true. The more pieces we see, the pickier we get, and the more refined our personal shopping lists become. Repeat after me: It’s all about quality over quantity.

It feels as though spring has finally arrived this week, so this means we’ve been thinking about the trends and silhouettes we want to embrace for the coming season. Of course, this doesn’t always have to mean buying new items, but we often find that scrolling through the new season drops can be a good way to inspire us to revisit old favourites that are already sitting in our wardrobes. So I had a quick chat with our lovely editorial team and pulled together a definitive list of pieces that we’ve dreaming about this spring. From Maxine’s penchant for a check and Hannah’s striped co-ords, to Emily’s colourful tailoring and Emma’s holiday-ready staples, scroll down to see what we’re loving right now.

I’m feeling a bit jaded by florals and keep gravitating towards stripes instead for the spring/summer season ahead. This co-ord puts a new spin on things. Comfy, laid-back, as great for work as it could be for a holiday or a night out, I think this will see plenty of wear:

I recently bought a pair of Bobbies Paris boots and I can’t fault the comfort or fit of them, so I’ll be going back to the French shoe brand for some summer sandals. Gold go with everything, IMHO.

I’m a bit fan of a black summer dress, and this year (as it was last year) is all about combining demure shapes with subtle cut-out details. This one is just calling out for a Med beach and a cocktail. Oh, and a tan wouldn’t go amiss.

Maybe I’m delusional in even thinking I could buy this (and keep it clean) but I really do need a grown-up way to tote my laptop around this year, and this feels like the solution that’s speaking to my innermost desires…

Blame my colleague Emily—I’ve reached peak leather trouser obsession and these are the ones at the top of my list.

It’s definitely a statement, but I can tell I’d wear this all season long.

Love these new Loewe logo bags.

This colour-blocking swimsuit not only looks fab, but will also be super flattering.

Yep, I’m still not over waistcoats, especially for the warmer months.

I’ve tried this on IRL and can confirm it’s a real gem.

There’s just something so premium-looking about forest green hues. Throw in my addition to blazers and this beauty is impossible to resist.

Most of my handbags are black, which can feel too harsh against springtime apparel. This cream shoulder bag, however, is just the ticket.

Gingham, a grosgrain ribbon belt, puff-sleeves, and a subtle sweetheart neckline? This is me in a dress.

I love Saint Laurent’s angular cat-eye sunglasses, but given my track-record of scratching the lenses, I can’t justify a premium pair. Instead, I’ll be snapping up these from & Other Stories.

Chances are, if you bump into me during the warmer months, if I’m not in wide leg trousers and a t-shirt, I’m most definitely in a voluminous midi dresses. I love them for how easy to wear they’re yet still making it look like I’ve made effort. This COS one as seen on Candice Brathwaite is on my wishlist and will be added to bag come payday.

Just like Crocs, these Birkenstocks are one of those ‘Marmite’ items and I sit on the ‘Love’ side of it. It’s one of those easy to style items.

I feel like I’m shopping better in my thirties than I did my twenties. You know what they say, with age comes wisdom. I know what suits me and the items that I’ll get the most wear out of. This trench coat coat feels very much like a forever item.

I’ve forgotten how to wear heels. If given the choice, I’d be in trainers, but I’m sure my friend would be livid if I wore trainers to her wedding so I’m eyeing up these classics instead.

My weakness for the colour orange has lasted two springs now. I don’t know what it is about the shade but I just gravitate towards it. The moment I saw this Mango dress, I just knew I had to have it.

Okay, I’ll admit it, I love anything that Rave Review does, but this mini is so perfect for spring.

These would look so cool with wide leg trousers and a white tee.

I’m wearing so many striped shirts right now, and there are plenty of winning pre-loved iterations to be found online.

I’ve been looking for the perfect pair of low slung, beige trousers, and these might just be the one.

I already have Arket’s blazer in black and camel and I wear them more than any other piece in my wardrobe. This new lilac version is the perfect spring update and I’ll be wearing it with white denim and those Gucci sandals for the foreseeable.

I always like to balance out the prettiness of spring colours and dresses with a more androgynous sandal. These do the job perfectly and I’ll be wearing them with everything, this season and beyond.

The perfect trench coat does exist, and luckily you can find it on the high street.

Ganni always know how to do a good throw-on dress. This one has already sold out on other sites so I’m planning on moving fast to avoid disappointment.

COS’s sellout crossbody bag is back for spring! I missed out on all the other restocks and regretted it wholeheartedly, so I wont be making the same mistake with this easy new season update.
