The Carolina Hurricanes have locked up forward Andrei Svechnikov to an eight-year, $62 million contract.
Svechnikov’s deal will carry a $7.75 million cap hit per season. The 21-year-old had 15 goals and 42 points in 55 games last season while adding another eight points in 11 playoff games.
