The Edmonton Oilers were in danger of a second consecutive disappointing loss before Zach Hyman came to the rescue.
Two days after a 5-3 loss to the Pittsburgh Penguins, Hyman’s power-play goal was the game-winner on Saturday in a 4-3 win over the Chicago Blackhawks.
The Blackhawks jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first period, but Edmonton would outscore Chicago 3-1 in the second period before Hyman potted the winner in the third.
Blackhawks star Connor Bedard was held pointless Saturday and saw his nine-game point streak come to an end.
With the victory, the Oilers have now won five of their last six games.
Edmonton will get Sunday off before a showdown with the red-hot Los Angeles Kings on Monday.
More to come.
