I Can't Stop Wearing Co-Ords—These Are the Sets I'm Backing for Summer

It’s only coming up to the end of June, and I’ve already bought four co-ords. Last summer I bought some too, so after bringing these back out, 2022 for me is all about being matchy-matchy. I’m not the only one, either. Lucy Williams has been wearing a laidback oversized shirt and short pairings on repeat, Zeena and Ellie have been backing the top and skirt sets and stylist Hannah has shown everyone how to style the vest and trouser co-ord.

The reason I love them? They’re easy. With minimal effort needed, you can throw on a matching set and it’ll instantly make you look put together. Not only this, I see them as a two-for-one buy considering you can break up the duo and wear them as separates from other staples in your existing wardrobe. And this cost per wear justifies my need for the four sets I bought (that’s what I’m telling myself, anyway.) So, seeing as I see myself as a bit of a co-ord expert, I’ve found the best ones to shop for summer. Trust me—you’ll wear these so many times you’ll wonder how you ever got dressed without them.

Styles Notes: Ellie’s Instagram is one I always go to for joyful outfit inspiration, and this co-ord proves why. The printed-skirt–and-top pairing needs little styling to look incredible. A beach backdrop helps, of course.

Style Notes: One of the easiest outfits to style this summer is the oversized shirt and shorts combo. Found at the likes of Arket, H&M and COS, beach babe Lucy shows how effortless it looks as a set. Psst, you can also wear them in so many ways as basic separates.

Styles Notes: Queen of colour, Zeena, never fails to brighten up my daily scroll. Wearing a punchy green & Other Stories set, this would be the perfect wedding-guest look.

Style Notes: Making a case for the vest and trouser co-ord, minimalist Hannah makes me want to snap up this Zara set immediately. Keeping it classic with matchy-matchy white accessories, I would also try it out with dusty-pink shoes and bag.

Fresh from Who What Wear’s new Drop 01 collection, this made-to-order shirt is so easy to throw on over a vest or bikini top with the matching shorts.

A pair of linen shorts will serve you all summer, and this pair supports a child in education for one month with every purchase.

The perfect alternative to a dress.

I would wear this on repeat, on holiday and at home with chunky sandals.

You can match this top with coordinating shorts or the midi skirt below.

The belt on this linen skirt makes it look so premium.

I haven’t met a knit top I don’t like, but this one is extra fun.

I would wear these on the beach with a string bikini and straw beach bag.

A silk shirt will instantly look (and feel) luxe, especially with the matching trousers.

I would also wear these with a vest top and fisherman sandals.

The slip skirt is back.

The detail on this shirt is so beautiful.

No doubt you’ll wear this skirt all summer, every summer.

You can’t beat a great oversized blazer, and COS is the go-to.

A short suit is the summer way to do tailoring.

The vest and trousers duo looks effortless at all time. This ones comes in five other shades, too.

Aussie label Alemais knows know to do a great summer co-ord. Case in point? This yellow floral number.

As comfy as they are cool.

Anything that feels as comfy as pyjamas gets a strong yes from me.

So easy to throw on with a white tee, too.

I would wear this for a night out instead of jeans and a nice top.

This suit would be so good with chunky loafers.

So chic.
