I Live In Blazers, and Here are 18 That Fashion People Are Loving Right Now

No matter the time of year, if there’s one piece in your wardrobe that you can consistently rely on to deliver, it’s a blazer. As trends come and go, and that impulse purchase waits at the back of your wardrobe for it’s moment in the sun, the blazer is a timeless buy that never goes out of style, and manages to be one of the few things I actively collect, knowing it’s a sound investment.

I’m going to go ahead and say it–there is no outfit that can’t be immeasurably improved by a blazer. A big statement, yes, but I’m confident I’ve got the proof to back it up.

A case in point are celebrity blazer fans Ashley Olsen and Hailey Bieber. When both paired an oversized blazer with a simple tee and jeans, it caught our attention. After all, when two of the world’s most influential dressers are turning to blazers as their go-to jacket, you have to take note. And in fact, it was the resurfaced pictures of Princess Diana’s blazer and vintage sweater combination that inspired me to invest in an oversized, black jacket from Zara that I now have on constant rotation (and can’t wait to pair with knee-high boots).

But of course, if I’m waxing lyrical and you already love blazers but aren’t sure how to style them, I’ve turned to some of our favourite influencers for inspiration. Not only will some of these looks help breathe new life into your favourite blazer, but there are also suggestions on where you can find a stylish new one. After all, this wardrobe hero is about to come into its own in the transitional seasonal months, so keep scrolling for my edit of the best blazers to add to your basket now.

Style Notes: A good black blazer should never be written off as “boring”. This classic jacket not only makes a sharp full suit, but toughens up floaty dresses and pretty blouses.

Got dinner plans? Change out of the matching trousers and wear over a satin slip dress with a barely-there strappy heel.

Style Notes: Single-breasted loyalists, switch up shapes with a sculptural double-breasted blazer like Sara Loura’s asymmetric Ganni jacket.

Act fast, this one-of-a-kind blazer is currently discounted, so likely to sell through even quicker.

Style Notes: Think of the camel blazer as the little sister of winter’s camel wool coat. It goes with quite honestly everything, and is a guaranteed investment that won’t go out of style.

Although shown on the runway with a bra top and stirrup leggings, a scoop necked body and skinny jeans is a wearable way to get the look.

Style Notes: Go large or go home is the Frankie Shop’s (unofficial) mantra. When it comes to tailoring the cool-girl way, size up for an oversized, “borrowed from the boys” look.

Buy this jacket true to size as the generous cut is designed to be a roomy fit.

Style Notes: I think shorts might have just overtaken the wide-leg trouser for the coolest way to wear a full  suit. Bonus points for bold, seasonal colours that are the easiest way to do dopamine dressing.

Get the matching shorts too for an entire suit for under £150.

Style Notes: Even when the weather is at it’s hottest, make a blazer work by opting for cooling linen in fresh white.

Minimal tailoring is Theory’s forte, and this understated blazer also comes in buttermilk yellow and mint green for those who want to add a little colour.

Style Notes: Find pinstripes too stuffy? Estelle makes a case for the colourful candy stripe to be the new print of choice.

If doubling up on print isn’t your thing, wear the blazer separately with jeans, and throw a trench on top.

This blazer has reached near iconic status in the Who What Wear office.

If it’s possible to find anything cooler than a leather blazer, I’m yet to discover it.

It might be high-street, but this blazer has a couture shape that makes it look far more expensive.

I’m sold on that tie-waist detail. The fact that it comes as a full suit too is an added bonus.

Wear with a white tee, straight leg jeans and loafers, hey presto–your work, lunch, and weekend uniform sorted.

Veronica Beard are known for their jackets, and the Dickey blazer is a bestseller.

A good blazer needn’t be boring, and I love a pop of colour to lift an outfit (especially in this on trend shade of orange).

The easy way to make a blazer work for autumn? Opt for a heritage check print, and wear over a fine knit poloneck.

Longline, boxy blazers are a flattering figure-skimming option that will work best for a bigger bust.

Tweed blazers get an honourable mention for their ability to make every outfit feel a little bit more Parisian, non?

I just couldn’t help myself. How adorable are those bows?
