I Recommend These M&S Jeans to Everyone I Know—Here's How I Wear Them

If you haven’t already discovered how great Marks and Spencer‘s jeans are, let us be the ones to introduce you. As well as offering an affordable way to update your denim collection, the high-street hero’s jeans impressively come in five (yes, five!) different leg lengths—extra short, short, regular, tall and extra tall—so whatever your height, you’ll find a pair that hits your ankles at just the right spot. Particular highlights included the trendy new wide legs and the flattering slim-fit jeans—skinnies are back, by the way—but there is one style that takes the crown as the best pair of jeans to slot into your everyday wardrobe. In our opinion, M&S has totally nailed the straight-leg shape.

And here’s the best bit: there’s not just one, but two cuts to choose from. The more affordable pair, at just £23, features a mid-rise waist and a bit of stretch. The other is a little pricier at £45, but it is made from slightly sturdier denim. Personally, I like a high waist, so the latter pair has won me over, but it really depends on your preferences.

There’s also a range of wearable washes available, each of which opens up a whole new set of outfit options. To demonstrate, I’ve rounded up my four go-to looks for you to recreate, all involving these versatile straight-leg jeans—alongside some more M&S hero buys, of course.

Style Notes: When I think of blue jeans, I instantly envisage wearing them at the weekend. This is exactly how I’d style these classic straight-legs for a lazy Saturday.

I immediately added this springtime take on the Breton top to my basket.

When in doubt, stick to timeless mid-blue.

Light layers like this will see you into the milder months.

Chic everyday earrings.

These affordable sneakers have hundreds of 4 and 5-star reviews.

Style Notes: Apparently I’m lacking imagination, because this is basically just a version of ‘jeans and a nice top’. I’m not mad about it, though, and you can bet I’ll be wearing this look on my next evening out.

This rich blue shade would look so beautiful with camel tones.

Perhaps my favourite pair on this list; dark denim always feels smarter, IMO.

A key piece for 2023.

Instantly elevate your outfit with these striking earrings.

Some things never go out of style.

Style Notes: You can always count on jeans to make your statement pieces feel more wearable for the day-to-day. Flat boots and a scrunchie finish off this casual look nicely.

I don’t know about you, but I certainly wouldn’t guess that this stunning jacket is from the high street.

The light wash is ideal for the warmer months.

Another designer-looking piece for a really reasonable price. Thanks, M&S.

Silk is gentler on hair than most materials.

Boot season might almost be over, but you’ll be pulling these out for many winters to come.

Style Notes: Spring is coming, so embrace colour! I love how this vivid blood orange looks with the dark-wash jeans. Choose neutral-toned accessories to let the shacket do the talking.

This vibrant layer was tailor-made for spring.

If you like the roll-up look, opt for a longer length than you’d usually go for.

A chic way to keep your hair out of your face.

One of the many beautiful bags in M&S’ new collection.

I reckon these will sell fast, so don’t sleep on it.

The £23 pair are available in 9 colours (yes 9!) and in three leg lengths.

These are available in black, light indigo, white, grey and dark indigo.
