I Spent Hours Scrolling Black Friday Sales—Here Are the Deals Worth Shopping

Black Friday (and, let’s be honest, the whole of Cyber Month) can be an assault on your email inbox, with every brand you’ve ever shown interest in sending alert after alert about offers and promotions. Not to mention the TV and social media ads. It’s enough to make you want a full-blown digital detox. So, here, I’m arming you with essential tips to cut through the chaos and help you find the best Black Friday clothing deals of 2023. And let’s just say I take my role of guiding you away from any tempting sale traps and towards the worthy, genuinely money-saving deals very seriously!

My qualifications? You could say I’m a shopping expert. I’ve been a fashion editor and stylist responsible for picking out the very best buys from a sea of products for over a decade now, and my specialty is timeless wardrobe classics (the kind you don’t regret buying in sales). Being a Who What Wear UK editor also comes with industry connections, meaning I’ve got plenty of insider knowledge on the dates and details of the best Black Friday clothing deals before they even begin.

When it comes to shopping for clothes, shoes and accessories during Black Friday, you’ll likely want to find classic pieces that have been slightly out of reach previously, or hard-working basics that are missing from your wardrobe and were already on your list (such as a new winter coat or pair of boots). With all our purse strings a little tighter this year, these sales can also be a great time to get started on your gift buying or kick off your partywear wardrobe. Whatever you’re looking for, it’s all about investing in considered, thought-through purchases that won’t give you a pang of guilt when you see your bank statement in December.

Affiliate editor Emily Dawes will be shopping for wardrobe classics this Black Friday, sharing the best finds with you here.

Black Friday weekend might not have officially kicked off yet (the big day is actually this Friday 24 November, with Cyber Monday falling on 27 November) but retailers are introducing offers earlier than ever this year. Below, I’ve started rounding up all the best early Black Friday deals for 2023 that have already gone live, and I’ll be updating this daily with any new additions that I think are worth seeing. Think of it as your Cyber Month one-stop shop for finding the best fashion deals, so you might want to bookmark it now.

Of course, there’s plenty more Black Friday action happening across the site this month, too. If it’s specifically high-street steals you’re after, don’t miss our roundup of affordable finds. If it’s impressive beauty bargains on your list, you’ll need to read all about our beauty editor’s top Black Friday sale picks, as well as her tips on finding the best discounts on beauty tools. And if you’re using the sales as an opportunity to do a spot of Christmas shopping (a wise move), I’ve found some incredible savings on gorgeous gifts to help you along the way.

Scroll on to see the very best Black Friday clothing deals for 2023, as well as the pieces I would genuinely recommend investing in (either from personal experience or industry expertise), sale or no sale.

My Pick of the Best Black Friday Clothing Deals and Codes

Get 30% off cult designer buys at MATCHES with the code: MATCHES30

John Lewis has 20% off across fashion, home and beauty.

COS has 25% off its best-selling wardrobe staples.

Harrods has 30% off investment pieces and cult designer buys.

Aspinal of London has up to 50% off everything— including handbags, gifts and accessories.

Nobody’s Child has 20% off its great dresses and winter staples with the code BF20

Fossil is offering up to 50% off its expensive-looking jewellery and watches.

If you asked every editor on our team what their favourite Black Friday sale was, I’m pretty sure we’d all say Reformation. The brand rarely does discounts but for Black Friday it goes all out and is currently offering 25% off everything on site (the best kind of sale). We always have Reformation items on our wish lists as fashion editors, so there’s no better time to head to the checkout. From the celeb-loved dresses, to its famously good wide-leg Mason pants (which come in petite and extended sizes too), responsible knitwear (I’ve just checked out with the Clara cardigan) and dream boots (Remy are the perfect knee-highs in my opinion).

If you’re under 5’3″, shop the petite version of these trousers here. There’s ten colours to choose from!

Here’s four ideas for how to wear this cute cardi.

Black leather or brown suede? That is the question.

As one of my most-shopped sites, you can be sure that I’ll be taking advantage of MATCHES’ “Friends and Family” Black Friday sale that just launched. Use the code: MATCHES30 at checkout to receive 30% off over 7,000 cult designer buys

Frankie Shop’s Gelso is still the gold standard of blazers.

The ultimate party dress.

A perfect cream knit to layer up.

Raey’s coats always sell out, and are hugely popular among the insider fashion crowd for being incredible quality and supremely cool.

These come in a beautiful chocolate brown colour too.

The COS Black Friday sale has launched with 25% off a selection of its best-selling wardrobe staples—from perfect white shirts to chic knits, winter coats and even the brand’s famously good wide-leg trousers.

This has been in my basket for weeks now, so I think it’s finally time to invest.

Such a gorgeous jumper that feels cosy but still elevated.

Practical but stylish at the same time.

I’m a huge fan of COS knitted dresses. This one isn’t too thick or bulky.

COS’s wide leg trousers are famous amongst editors and influencers for being the best in the business.

John Lewis is leaning into Black Friday deals all month, with 20% off across fashion, home and beauty already (check out what our beauty editor is buying). For womenswear I’d recommend browsing for brands like UGG, Monica Vinader (both great for gifts), Whistles and Barbour which can all be quite expensive without discounts. Don’t skip out on John Lewis’ own brand for wardrobe staples, though—I really rate the quality.

I’ve worn these slippers for years (and even repeat bought them after they wore down). I’ve never found anything cosier.

This is such a wardrobe classic that you’ll wear forever. Not only is it the perfect party jacket for the upcoming events season, it works just as well thrown over jeans and a knit for work or weekends.

This is so delicate and pretty. It would make the perfect gift (for someone else or yourself). Plus, it’s 30% off.

The ultimate black trousers.

Practical and stylish.

If you’ve been looking for a raincoat that is incredibly chic too, this timeless Barbour style is 25% off.

We all know Harrods is the destination for luxury buys, and I can recommend heading there to treat yourself (or your loved ones) to winter investment buys (there’s so many great designer bags), luxe eveningwear and seriously special gifts in the run-up to the festive period. For the whole of Cyber Month, the London icon has up to 30% off cult brands like Jacquemus, Mach & Mach, Hunza G and Christopher Esber.

Thanks to my fellow Who What Wear UK editors sporting theirs to the office recently, a Le Bambino bag is top of my handbag wish list at the moment. Throw it over your shoulder or wear it as a crossbody.

Shoe lovers, you’re being spoilt with these.

Tove dresses are something I always look for in designer sales. They’re so timeless, with impeccable detailing and quality, and they’re really versatile. I love that you could dress this chic LBD up for Christmas parties or winter weddings with a heel and a red lip, but also wear it with loafers or boots (and perhaps a roll neck underneath until spring arrives) for work. There’s a strapless white version I’ve also got my eye on for summer.

Nobody’s Child does beautiful dresses that you’ll often find the Who What Wear UK team wearing to weddings, work and everything in between, but I’ve recently noticed the affordable (and sustainably minded) brand nailing winter staples too. The new knitwear pieces have particularly caught my eye as we head into winter, and having had a sneak peek at the brand’s press preview recently I can confirm the quality is lovely. You can now get 20% off everything using the code BF20

Hello, perfect Christmas Day dress! I just know I’d get so much wear out of this all winter long. I love it here paired with the shoes of the season (mary-jane ballet flats) but I’d also wear it with my leather knee-high boots.

Something about this knit feels very French—maybe it’s the stripes or the effortlessness of it all. Either way, I’m sold.

Knitted dresses are my trick to looking elevated on busy (and cold) winter mornings. Throw this on with your favourite knee-high boots and gold layering jewellery and you’ve got a polished look in minutes.

A quilted or puffer coat is always a wise investment. This one looks particularly premium, and the khaki is such a nice colour tone to add to your winter wardrobe.

Kitri is one of team Who What Wear UK’s favourite independent fashion brands. I know for a fact (I’ve seen the outfits with my own eyes) that so many of us turn to Kitri for luxe-looking eveningwear, great printed pieces and chic throw-on day dresses as well. To help avoid any panic buying, the brand is starting deals early this year and from today you can get 30% off (almost) everything on site until the end of the month with the code BLACKFRIDAY30.

A fun coat like this can really make an outfit.

Now this is a perfect party dress! I always think navy velvet is such a classy alternative to red and green for the festive period (and it looks great at winter weddings).

Aspinal is offering up to a whopping 50% off for Cyber Month. The British brand may be best known for its classic handbags which make excellent investments, but I also often turn to it for small leather goods like purses, travel accessories and diaries. They make the perfect gifts, especially since the brand offers embossed personalisation and the gift-wrapping is always impeccable. I’ll be ticking off a lot of my Christmas shopping list here this month.

Whenever anyone asks me to recommend the perfect work, travel or just a “room for everything” tote bag, this is the style I suggest. It comes in so many different colours and finishes so you’re bound to find one perfect for your wardrobe.

Aspinal diaries make such classy gifts for anyone.

If you (or one of your loved ones) have a watch on your wish list, you’re in luck. Fossil—the brand insiders head to for expensive-looking timepieces at really reasonable prices—is having an epic Black Friday sale that’s already live. There’s up to 50% off basically everything on site. Don’t miss the pretty jewellery pieces either.

This is so classic and will add a polished finish to all outfits.
