I Swear This High-Street Brand Is Serving Up the Best Dresses This Summer

I’m going to make a confession. I used to be something of a Topshop devotee, but since it made the leap from brick-and-mortar retail to the ASOS website, I’ve been unintentionally overlooking it. I knew it was still there and going strong—most of the pieces I gravitated towards in ASOS’s hefty new-arrivals section wind up being from Topshop—but I’ve really let checking the latest additions specifically from Topshop slide. So when my colleague mentioned how good Topshop’s summer collection was, I had to see for myself. My first observation? Its dresses.

You can never go wrong with a black midi dress.

I’m a dress person, but I found myself going out of control with the number of Topshop dresses I was adding to my saved items. With over 1100 dresses currently on site, there were guaranteed to be a few that were going to catch my eye. But because no one’s wardrobe is big enough for the whole lot, I’ve done the hard work for you and picked the hero styles you may want to consider adding to your closet.

So what are the trends that Topshop is backing this season? From checked dresses and roomy smocks to long-sleeve numbers and sassy silhouettes, there’s something for everyone. I’ve got my eyes on the dresses that are versatile enough to carry right through to autumn, so many of the below styles will look just as good with sandals as they do with knee-high boots. It’s all about that cost per wear.

This silhouette is incredible.

Broderie embroidery always stands the test of time.

This looks so premium.

Tiny cut-outs are a major trend this year.

From the printed mesh to the strap detailing, this dress feels so current.

The colour! The cut!

An easy throw-on outfit.

I’m really into the sleeves. And the tangerine colour for that matter.

This will sit in with any minimalist aesthetic.

This would make for a beautiful wedding guest dress, too.

This print is the sort I’d usually expect from Faithfull the Brand.

This is the top of my wish list.

Just add slider sandals.

This looks so much more expensive than it is. I like how they’ve styled it with blue accessories, too.

I have this thing for checked wrap dresses.

You had me at “embroidery.”

The bow neckline is just gorgeous.

Pair this with chunky flat sandals and rectangular sunglasses for Y2K appeal.

If you told me this was designer, I’d believe you, no questions asked.

This is going straight into my holiday suitcase.

Puff sleeves and sweetheart necklines always win me over.

All this outfit is missing is a basket bag.

The denim dress reimagined in a long hemline.

I’d wear this with tan and straw accessories for chic beach days.
