Hi, I’m a fashion journalist, and I’m a total cliché. My offence? I really, really love French fashion brands. Of course, there are the greats such as Chanel, Saint Laurent, Hermès, Celine and Dior that will always be the dream to own and wear. But it’s not just the legendary old-school fashion houses that inspire me. It’s also the more contemporary designers that I love, such as Jacquemus and Isabel Marant. However, there’s no escaping the fact that all the above labels are not exactly budget-friendly. It’s great, then, that Musier came along to fill the hole of more affordable French fashion brands.
Launched in 2018, the label was created by Anne-Laure Mais, who is also often spotted wearing the pieces on her Instagram feed. The signature style is Parisian but with a sassy edge—think cropped cardigans, front-tied blouses, and midi dresses that show off just the right amount of décolletage. Right now, there are plenty of pieces you can get your hands on (some even on sale on ASOS) and are ideal for the coming warmer months. Personally, I’m drawn to the lime-green cardigan embellished with faux-pearl buttons. If this all sounds like something you’re into, I suggest you keep scrolling and see more, tout suite!
