I'm A Fashion Editor—6 Easy Yet Impressive Outfits I'll Rely On This Winter

An a fashion editor, part of my job is to look through Instagram for outfit inspiration, and when I stumble across an amazing look I think it’s only only fair that I share my findings with you lovely lot. This week, I was in search of chic outfits that are not only incredibly easy to put together (something we can all agree is important, right?) but also that’ll work in the chilly 10-degree weather that is heading our way. Because here at Who What Wear, we like to plan ahead.

We’ve already found the outfit formulas for 20-degrees and ideas for 15-degree weather, so naturally as the year goes on, there comes a time when we start thinking about the inevitable wardrobe crisis that will hit as soon as the temperature plummets further. But trust me when I say that you’ll actually start looking forward to dressing for those chilly days when you see these combos…

Whether it’s a cult striped knit with a cosy wool coat and knee-high boots, or you’re going to take the easy route with a throw-on-and-go knitted dress with chunky boots, keep scrolling to see the six outfits that are so simple to put together, but also incredibly chic. The best part? You most likely already own and love some of the pieces.

Scroll down to discover more and shop all the pieces you might need to recreate the looks.

Style Notes: The only thing you may want to add to this classic ensemble is tights. Aside from that, you can never fail with a chunky roll neck knit, a wool coat and flat knee-high boots worn with shorts.

Tôteme’s cult striped knits are worth the investment.

You can never fail with a belted wool coat.

We can always Rely on Ganni for a great thick tread boot.

Amaka has added shorts to her look, but you could also opt for a black mini skirt. Add tights for extra warmth.

Style Notes: The best part about a statement coat is that you barely have to even think about what’s underneath. Opt for an oversized fit, too, so you can hide multiple cosy layers under it.

Monikh’s actual coat from Rixo looks like it could be a vintage find.

A wool and cashmere mix will be so cosy.

Theres’s also a matching blazer to style as a suit.

New Balance 550 never stay in stock for long, so be speedy!

Style Notes: If you’re on-the-go, there’s nothing worse than being swamped in heavy layers (even if it is cold.) Instead, opt for thicker fabrics such as leather and layer separates until you feel warm, but not too stuffy.

Such a good basic to layer.

Trust us, you’ll get some much wear out of a great-quality leather skirt.

These look so expensive.

A slouchy denim jacket is ideal over layers or even under another coat.

Style Notes: Co-ords work for literally any season. Now it’s chillier, ditch linen in favour of smart knitted versions. And there’s nothing to say you can’t hide a Heattech vest underneath. Add a thick wool coat and you’re ready to go!

This shade looks so good with tan, beige and cream. Wear it with leather trousers and denim, too.

Joseph always has some of the best knitted pieces around. You could pair this skirt with the matching top or add a t-shirt and chunky cardigan.

These are bound to uplift even the dullest of days.

Sleek sunglasses are an all-year-round addition to your outfits.

Style Notes: Just because winter is on the horizon doesn’t mean you can’t have fun with your looks. Make like Zeena and wear a playful printed puffer with a balaclava for when it’s 10-degrees, but feels like 2.

Like so many other of our favourite fashion influencers, Zeena wears a quilted coat from Sea. The Nohr is the brand’s latest launch.

This is sure to keep you toasty!

Western boots are a wise investment right now and Khaite is loved amongst celebs.

These are so very soft.

Style Notes: When it comes to one-piece wonders, you can’t go wrong with a knitted dress. A hero in anyone’s wardrobe, keep it classic like Isabelle or layer a bold blazer over the top.

This is as warm as it looks.

We know these will sell out, so be quick.

Rounded bags are a mini trend.

A timeless accessory will pull the look together.
