I'm in the Mood for Something New, and These Zara and H&M Items Are It

Whenever I’m in the mood to treat myself to something new (which, admittedly, is quite frequently), there are two places I always head directly to—H&M and Zara. With a nuanced and often elevated take on the trends and appeasing price tags, I don’t think I need to go into detail as to why I find them so appealing. However, just because I get the urge to shop doesn’t mean I do so frivolously or without consideration.

Influencer Savina Chow wears a cardigan and knitted top set from Zara.

Sure, there are pretty pieces in every H&M and Zara category, but that makes their respective websites a bit of a thirst trap, where appearances can easily lull you. However, when I shop H&M and Zara, I do so with as discerning an eye as possible, seeking out the pieces that go beyond the current season and that genuinely fit with my aesthetic. While our personal styles might not match up, and that’s totally okay, I do believe I’ve managed to curate an edit of the best Zara and H&M fashion items that won’t date for you below. Take a look, and hopefully, you’ll find something you love.

Nothing says “polished” quite like a cream wool coat.

Good skirts are hard to come by—this Zara midi shouldn’t be missed.

I seek out H&M’s wool-blend coat styles as they wear especially well over time.

Seems appropriate to leave a waist belt here, too.

Knitted co-ords always make me feel like a rich girl.

I always advocate for a matching set—they make getting dressed a cinch.

These went straight into my basket to wear with the above set.

Tap into the biker jacket trend seen on the autumn/winter runways with this longline style.

High-street cashmere doesn’t get better than this.

These remind me of Reformation’s cult Mason trousers.

If you want your outfits to look more French, this is how.

A cool styling option for this striped shirt—layering a white roll-neck underneath.

You had me at “green satin”.

The perfect “nice top” to any jean look.

Leather trousers are also being given the wide-leg treatment this season.

Proof shirt dresses can look extremely elegant.

An essential in any coat collection.

When you want your loungewear to look just as chic as everything else you own.

I’m yet to invest in an hourglass cardigan; perhaps now’s the time.

This has a thick knitted weave which makes it look so much more expensive than it is.

Doesn’t this look designer?

An easy throw-on you can layer up in so many ways.

I have a sweet spot for cable-knit jumpers.

These classic trousers also come in black.

H&M’s loafers always fly out of stock.

Perfect for the upcoming party season.
