Even before the slipper-clad months of lockdown, I never would’ve considered myself a ‘heels person’. Yes, I do enjoy a heeled boot during the winter months, but when it comes to needle-thin stilettos and arch-crippling soles, I’m afraid my tolerance is fairly low. This is why shopping for party shoes has become my fashion nemesis, and with my 30th coming up at the end of the month I knew I had to bite the bullet. Thankfully, ASOS saved me a whole lot of grief, as it just created the most perfect pair of party heels.
Coming in a classic Mary Jane silhouette, chunky platform heel and high-shine patent finish, these shoes certainly pack a punch. I was worried that they’d look too ‘school girlish’, but when styled with sheer tights and a mini dress, they honestly looked so chic. Best of all, I can confirm that they are super comfy, despite the added height of the platform. I found it rubbed a tiny bit on the front edge of the the shoe, but nothing that a few wears will soften-up. Size-wise, unless you have super narrow feet, I would definitely go one size up. I’m usually a UK 6, but after reading the reviews I went for a 7 and they’re pretty much an ideal fit. I can’t wait to slip them on with my 16ARLINGTON rental dress for my birthday dinner.
