I’ve Been Thinking About This Sold-Out Totême Jacket for 6 Months—Now, It’s Back

This jacket has been dominating my thoughts for months.

Last year, I spent more time than I’m willing to be honest with myself about thinking about Totême’s draped fringed wool jacket. You know the one—the versatile cover-up with the slightly oversize silhouette, contrast whip-stitched edging, and chic, built-in scarf. The one snapped up by so many stylish types, including Monikh Dale, Anouk Yve, and Jessica Skye.

For months, I deliberated about purchasing it for myself. Initially, I wanted to analyse how much wear I would get out of it—I don’t buy anything unless I can picture myself wearing it constantly. Once I had confirmed that it would work well with my existing wardrobe, and just as I was about to add it to my basket, Totême unveiled a new colour to consider. It hadn’t occurred to me that I needed anything other than the black iteration. That was until I saw the delicious biscuity-beige hue the brand had introduced. More thinking was required.

However, I paused a moment too long, for when I finally made up my mind and went to proceed with my purchase, both had sold out. It was a blow, and I spent the next six months getting over the fact there was a Totême-shaped hole in my wardrobe. Then, this week, while taking in the latest additions on Net-A-Porter, there it was; the same Totême draped fringed wool jacket. Back in stock. In both colours.

Second chances are rare, so when they present themselves, you shouldn’t let them pass you by. Just look at Ben and Jennifer. If you, too, fell for this jacket last year but also missed out, consider this your sign that love can strike twice… Scroll on to see the jacket in both hues, as well as a whole host of styling inspiration, courtesy of the influencers who got their hands on it the first time. While you’re at it, why not also browse my edit of Totême’s best transitional pieces.

It works so well with jeans and chunky flat boots.

It loans itself perfect to cosy knitted layers, too.

India owns both the black and the beige colourways.

For an elevated look, try pairing it with tailored trousers and sandals.

I love the contrast between the blackened wool and the ivory stitching.

This shade of beige is so versatile and will help to lift your autumn/winter outfits.

You can’t go wrong with Breton stripes.

Bookmarking for September when I’ll start living in leggings again.

Knitted dresses are a year-round staple.

Another cute jacket offering.

This is calling out to be worn with a chunky chain necklace.

I’m on the hunt for the perfect black trouser—this might be it.

To assist me in transitioning out of my sandals.

Re-creating this entire look as a matter of urgency.

I also have my eye on this quilted cover-up.

The colour distribution of the above Breton knit is switched around to put more focus on the black hue. And yes, I want them both.

These will look so sleek styled with a simple white vest top.

I’ve been mulling over this scarf, too.

It doesn’t get more classic than this.

You had me at “cashmere”.

A timeless denim option.

No two ways about it—I need these boots.

A shirt you can wear day and night.

Barrel-leg jeans are having a moment.
