I've Just Assembled 4 Easy Outfits from Mango's Minimal Edit

Over the past couple of seasons, I’ve noticed that my style has erred on being more minimalistic than it ever has been. While dopamine dressing—the art of joyful and often bright outfit styling—has been popular ever since lockdown was lifted, anyone who doesn’t subscribe to that aesthetic has probably developed an affinity for pared-back outfits, just as I have. In a sense, they’re incredibly practical—you can build what feels like an endless array of outfits on just a handful of staples, making for a very efficient wardrobe mix. I also love how keeping my outfits simple means I never really have to put too much thought into assembling them in the first place. And that makes this lazy girl very happy indeed.

Still, just because I keep my outfits on the basic side doesn’t mean I don’t have a frequent urge to shop. The truth is, I always want to shop, but being 1) a perfectionist, and 2) a stingy one at that, means I rarely spend—unless I think it’s 100% worth it. Tempted to treat myself to some new wares ahead of Fashion Week, I found myself browsing the new-in section at Mango, which is basically a minimalist’s Nirvana right now. With elevated staples peppered with some more of-the-moment pieces, but all in a pleasingly neutral colour palette, before I knew it, I’d curated four chic outfits from Mango’s minimal edit, all of which wound up in my basket. Admittedly I’m still deciding which pieces will make the cut but below, you’ll find what is essentially a mind-map of how I intend on wearing them. I hope you enjoy it!

Tailored vests are still going strong for autumn, and feel particularly on-trend styled with cowboy boots.

Wear this on its own as a top or layered over a long-sleeve jersey top when temperatures drop.

If you buy one piece of jewellery this season, make it a chain necklace.

Like so many Mango bags, this style looks so much more expensive than it actually is.

I love this jean fit.

Cowboy boots are one of autumn/winter 2022’s biggest trends, and this is the pair I have my eye on.

Slip dresses are everywhere, but I love how Mango has made its iteration stand out with a cool swirl print. Make it feel current by styling it with an on-trend bomber jacket.

The gold buttons and cropped hemline make this bomber jacket feel so fresh.

Mango specialises in creating designer-looking jewellery.

The need is urgent.

See what I mean about Mango’s handbags? So impressive.

If you missed out on Mango’s best-selling square-toe heels this summer, they’re back (and backless) for autumn!

Mango’s coat selection is already looking incredibly string—I’ll be investing in his creamy style and pairing it with richer tones underneath, much like this gorgeous chocolate shade.

This is an update on the Mango coat Sienna, Katie, Gigi and Alexa already own.

I live in Breton stripe jumpers in autumn, but I’m yet to invest in a brown iteration.

This also comes in a silver hue.

Mango has some of the best faux leather on the high street.

These chunky loafers will pair just as well with jeans as they will miniskirts and dresses.

Wide-leg trousers are the cornerstone of all great minimal outfits this season, and Mango has plenty to choose from. I’ve gone for this cropped pair, which I think loan themselves to easy styling with a stripe shirt and edgy heels.

A classic item every wardrobe would benefit from.

No need to size up—this shirt is perfectly oversized as it is.

Chunky bracelets are back for 2022, too.

These will look just as good with sneakers as they will with heeled boots.

These are the first thing on my Mango wish list; just wow.
