Puffer coats have long been considered practical, but stylish? Prior to last winter, we would have said otherwise. However, thanks to a host of designer interpretations of the cosy, borderline-ugly outerwear, they’ve become something of a fashion girl must-have.
Last year, their sartorial status has reached its peak, with the likes of Bottega Veneta creating a very special leather puffer coat, which swiftly made its way to the top of many an editor and influencer’s wish list. However, with an asking price surplus of £6,000, needless to say we started to commence the search for more affordable puffer coat variations. And what we found is that some of the strongest styles out there come courtesy of the high street.
From classic black to more daring leopard motifs, the shops (both digital and real life) are practically bursting with puffer coats, with the most frugal coming in at a mere £60. That’s not to say they don’t look premium. Design details such as statement labels and built-in belts, as well as interesting silhouettes come together to create an expensive looking edit. But don’t take our word for it; keep scrolling to see (and shop) the best high street puffer coats out there.
