I've Worked Out the Boot Trends You're Going to Love in 2021

Much like everyone in the world, I’d quite like 2020 to be over sooner rather than later, thanks very much. I don’t think I’m generalising when I say that this year hasn’t been the best. So then, you’ll forgive me for looking ahead into the new year and the new season fashion trends to have something to look forward to.

On the agenda today is the best new boot trends for 2021. While I’m aware that most of us are set with our footwear for winter right now, there are some genuinely exciting boots trends for the new year. As boots are now a year-round item, they’ll work perfect for spring/summer 2021 with summer dresses but excellent for the colder weather too.

Below, there are three key looks I’ve identified from the upcoming collections. While there isn’t anything totally groundbreaking, what I like is that there are a couple of more joyful styles as well as classic boots that are wardrobe classics. Keep scrolling to see the three boot trends I predict you’re going to love in 2021.

Isabel Marant spring/summer 2021 runway . While there are a lot of cowboy boot styles around right now, most fit the minimalist aesthetic (think the current Bottega versions). But for spring/summer 2021 the maximalist aesthetic is back. Think stripes, purple, pinks, metallics and embellishments for the ultimate colourful cowboy boots next season.

Isabel Marant spring/summer 2021 runway

Celine spring 2021 runway . Say goodbye to the super chunky sole, as I predict a return to the slightly flatter Chelsea boot is on the horizon. The real beauty about this shoe style is that it always looks brilliant with a midi floral dress. Even if we don’t make it to any festivals next year, you can still dress like you’re at one.

Ganni spring 2021 collection

Balmain spring/summer 2021 runway. Yep, it’s back. After a brief hiatus, I can’t shake the impression that the style gods (AKA, the biggest fashion houses in the world), are signalling a return of the sock boot. Seen at Balmain, as well as on street stylers during the most recent fashion week, this is the trend that is a surprising wardrobe classic. Opt for black or brown to ensure its wearability.

Next up, the biggest winter 2020 fashion trends to know.
