I think we can all agree that it’s been a rather epic year for colour trends. Whilst official colour trend predications are usually left to the experts at Pantone, this year, celebrities and influencers have been quick to label rising colours trends themselves, dubbing “strawberry girl summer” “blueberry milk” and “espresso brown“, amongst others, as the main colours of the last twelve months.
Whilst I’ve found myself partial to styling all of these shades, this winter I’m favouring a growing colour trend that is set to take off next year and has already been endorsed by style icon Jennifer Lopez. For its versatility and wearability, I am of course talking about the latte outfit trend. Already a favourite amongst the beauty lovers, we’re now seeing the colour trend evolve into fashion—and we couldn’t be happier about it.
Styling a button-down trench coat in a light latte shade, the singer opted for a tonal look, wearing her trench coat with camel trousers and white top. Incorporating different shades of the latte tone, Lopez styled a cream handbag and brown boots with her casual look.
Light neutrals were spotted in abundance across the runways during fashion month in September, appearing at Acne Studios, The Row and Khaite, styled with tonal neutral shades, or bolder colours such as red, blue and black.
