John Schneider to return as Blue Jays’ manager

In his end-of-season press conference, general manager Ross Atkins announced that John Schneider will remain in his position as manager of the Toronto Blue Jays.

Schneider’s status was up in the air after the way the 2023 season came to an end, with an early removal of Jose Berrios backfiring and the Blue Jays ultimately being swept in the wild-card round for the second straight year.

After replacing Charlie Montoyo 88 games into the 2022 season, Schneider has led Toronto to a 135-101 record. After carrying the interim tag through the 2022 campaign, the 43-year-old skipper was given the full-time job with a three-year contract with a team option for 2026.
