Jon Rahm started the final round at the 2023 Masters two shots back of leader Brooks Koepka, but ended the day four shots clear of the field to win the first green jacket of his career and his second major championship.
Koepka entered the final round with the outright lead at 11-under, two shots ahead of Rahm, and had won the last three majors when he led after 54 holes.
Rahm made sure to change that, as he shot a three-under 69 on Sunday to pass Koepka and become a Masters champion.
Koepka didn’t have his best stuff all day, with six bogeys in his final round to finish 8-under for the tournament and 3-over on the day.
Rahm’s win marks his fourth victory on the PGA Tour this season.
Mackenzie Hughes was the lone Canadian to make the cut at the Masters this year and finished the tournament tied for 29th at 1-over.
More to come.
