Kings crush Oilers in Game 2, take 2-0 series lead

The Los Angeles Kings are two wins away from finally getting some revenge on the Edmonton Oilers.

The Kings beat the Oilers 6-2 in Game 2 on Wednesday to take a 2-0 series lead.

Edmonton eliminated L.A. in Round 1 in the previous three seasons.

Much like in their Game 1 win, the Kings started quickly in Game 2 and sprinted out to a 3-0 lead thanks to goals from Brandt Clarke, Quinton Byfield and Andrei Kuzmenko.

The Oilers trimmed the lead to 3-2 off goals by Leon Draisaitl and Viktor Arvidsson, but then the Kings responded with three more of their own to push the lead to 6-2.

Oilers goaltender Stuart Skinner was pulled from the game after the Kings’ fifth goal.

The series now shifts to Edmonton for Game 3 on Friday. Watch the game live on Sportsnet and Sportsnet+ starting at 10 p.m. ET / 8 p.m. MT.
