Kraken appoints first full-time female coach in league history

The Seattle Kraken and Jessica Campbell made NHL history on Wednesday.

The league’s newest franchise is adding a new member to their coaching staff in Campbell who will serve as an assistant coach for the Kraken in the fall.

She will become the first full-time female assistant coach in the league’s history to work behind the bench in a regular season game.

Campbell makes the jump to Seattle after spending the last two seasons on Head Coach Dan Bylsma’s coaching staff in Coachella Valley.

She will join Bylsma and assistant coaches Dave Lowry and Bob Woods, the latter of which was appointed by Seattle on Wednesday as well.
