It’s been an eventful week for Patrik Laine.
The superstar winger made his debut with the Montreal Canadiens after nearly a year away from the NHL. On Wednesday, it was announced he has been named to Finland’s roster for the 4 Nations Face-Off.
Laine was one of 17 names added to Team Finland, joining the previously announced Sebastian Aho, Aleksander Barkov, Mikko Rantanen, Miro Heiskanen, Esa Lindell and Juuse Saros.
Other notable names added to the team on Wednesday include Vancouver Canucks goaltender Kevin Lankinen, Dallas Stars top centre Roope Hintz and rising star Anton Lundell of the Florida Panthers.
The 4 Nations Face-Off is a new best-on-best international tournament featuring teams made up of NHL players from Canada, Finland, Sweden and the United States. The tournament will run from Feb. 12 to 20 in Montreal and Boston, and all games will be available on Sportsnet and Sportsnet+.
