Toronto Maple Leafs captain John Tavares has been cleared of all structural damage to his head, neck and spine after undergoing CT scans and MRIs, according to general manager Kyle Dubas.
Dubas says Tavares suffered a concussion and a knee injury in the incidental collision with Corey Perry during Game 1 of Toronto’s first-round series against the Montreal Canadiens. The knee injury will keep Tavares out of the Leafs lineup for at least two weeks.
