Liberals and anti-immigration hardliners tied in extremely narrow Dutch election

The D66 party and Geert Wilders’ Party for Freedom are going neck to neck with nearly 100% of ballots counted

The liberal Democrats 66 (D66) party and the right-wing, anti-immigration Party for Freedom (PVV) are tied in Wednesday’s Dutch snap general election.

With 97.8% of ballots counted, both D66 and PVV received 16.7% of the vote, according to the official tally cited by public broadcaster NOS.
