With summer well and truly behind us, there’s only one thing on my mind right now: Christmas. I love nothing more than the twinkly lights, fun get-togethers and general merriment that’s synonymous with the festive period, but nothing gets me more excited than Liberty’s showstopping beauty advent calendar.

Last year, the brand’s advent calendar was the most successful and fastest selling product in its 145-year history, proving that fans continue to flock in masses to nab the iconic countdown. Intrigued? Thankfully, we were given a sneak preview at the 2022 edition.

Behind 24 gold-embossed doors, you’ll find 30 of the most sought-after products from the store’s iconic beauty hall, for a total value of £1065 (its highest yet). Expect haircare heroes from the likes of celebrity hairstylist Larry King and skincare staples from cult brands such as Sunday Riley and Kate Somerville. Plus, some of this year’s biggest beauty names, including Rose Inc, also make an appearance. So there’s no doubt you’ll be party (and recovery) ready.

Not only does the Liberty calendar make the countdown to the big day even more exciting, but it’s also a lovely festive decoration. The carefully curated edit comes housed in a beautiful recyclable box featuring a gorgeous illustration of the iconic storefront in a snowy setting, which will look lovely on a mantel, windowsill or sideboard over the Christmas period. If you’re feeling generous, you could also gift a loved one with this calendar and make their Christmas countdown that bit more indulgent.

I’ve rounded up my top four products from the calendar, which you’re bound to want more of after they run out. One of my favourite items in this year’s advent calendar is a mini version of 111Skin’s Rose Quartz Exfoliating Mask. Much loved by beauty editors and makeup artists, the Brow Renew Gel is infused with a buildable serum that both conditions and strengthens brows. It’s also enriched with a blend of nourishing ingredients that help brows appear thicker and fuller. Plus, it’s long-lasting and smudge-proof, so you can leave it on from morning to night.

This hero serum has been a favourite amongst skincare experts for years, and luckily, Liberty’s 2022 advent calendar has a mini bottle for you to try at home. Containing 5% vitamin C, it helps reduce signs of ageing and promotes a healthy-looking, radiant complexion. It’s also aims to protect from environmental stressors and is great for those prone to sensitive skin.

There are more than beauty and skincare products in this year’s offering. Along with haircare and tools, there’s a selection of candles like this gorgeous Liberty votive, which will last you well into the new year. It has base notes of rose, woodland moss and golden amber, so I’ll be lighting mine during a relaxing pamper session ahead of the big day, or I’ll (selflessly) give it to a loved one and make their day.
