Lions escape with victory after Bears botch last-gasp drive

The Chicago Bears continue to find excruciating ways to lose football games.

Their latest defeat, 23-20 against the Detroit Lions on Thursday on American Thanksgiving, was the result of poor clock management.

The Bears drove the ball into game-tying field goal range on their final drive, only for QB Caleb Williams to take a sack and time to run out on the ensuing play.

Chicago head coach Matt Eberflus walked away with a timeout in his pocket. His team has also suffered losses on a hail mary and as a result of a blocked field-goal attempt.
