Maple Leafs storm back to beat Canadiens

Perhaps the Toronto Maple Leafs drew some inspiration from watching their provincial rivals earlier on Hockey Day in Canada.

Hours after the Ottawa Senators stormed back to beat the Boston Bruins with two late goals to force overtime and a shootout, the Toronto Maple Leafs pulled off their own comeback in Montreal against the rival Canadiens.

Toronto battled back from a 3-0 deficit after 20 minutes to beat the Habs 7-3 on Saturday.

William Nylander tied it on a breakaway 24 seconds into the third before Oliver Ekman-Larsson scored the winner on a power play. Auston Matthews and Steven Lorentz added some insurance.

The result snapped Montreal’s six-game point streak.
