The Toronto Maple Leafs won’t be getting an offensive boost as they go for a second straight win in Game 3 against the Boston Bruins on Wednesday night.
Forward William Nylander remains out with an undisclosed injury, per Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman.
There was “a chance” Nylander, who dressed in all 82 games during the regular season, would suit up Wednesday, according to Maple Leafs head coach Sheldon Keefe.
Nylander was a full participant in the club’s morning skate, taking reps with projected linemates Pontus Holmberg and Calle Järnkrok. He then remained on the ice for extra work with Toronto’s scratches
The Maple Leafs edged the Bruins 3-2 Monday night to draw even at 1-1 in the best-of-seven series.
Nylander finished second on the team in scoring during the regular season with a career-high 98 points (40 goals and 58 assists).
The 27-year-old Nylander had four goals and 10 points in 11 games during the playoffs last year.
