The Minnesota Wild have signed veteran goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury to a one-year contract extension worth $2.5 million, the team announced Wednesday.
Fleury, 39, has a 2.98 goals-against average and .895 save percentage over 39 games with the Wild this season.
Across 1,024 career NHL games spanning 20 seasons, Fleury has posted a 561-329-96 record, 2.60 goals-against average and .912 save percentage.
A native of Sorel, Que., Fleury ranks first all-time among NHL netminders in shootout wins (65), second in wins, third in saves (26,563) and fourth in games played and minutes played (59,220:38). He is also the league’s active leader in all five categories.
Fleury has been with the Wild since being acquired during the 2021-2022 season in a trade with the Chicago Blackhawks.
Before his time with the Wild and Blackhawks, Fleury also played for the Vegas Golden Knights (four seasons) and Pittsburgh Penguins (13 seasons).
Originally drafted by the Penguins as the first overall selection in 2003, Fleury went on to win three Stanley Cups with the organization.
The Wild have missed the playoffs this season and are set to play their last game on Thursday, hosting the Seattle Kraken.
