Hockey star Marie-Philip Poulin has won the Northern Star Award as the Canadian athlete of the year.
Poulin led the Canadian women’s team to a gold medal at the 2022 Beijing Olympics and the world championship in Denmark.
Poulin is the first women’s hockey player to win the award.
The 2022 vote was held Wednesday.
