Marner’s game-winner leads Maple Leafs over Panthers in Game 2

The Toronto Maple Leafs will head to the Sunshine State with a commanding 2-0 series lead.

Toronto beat the Florida Panthers 4-3 in Game 2 of their second-round series on Wednesday in what was a wild, back-and-forth affair.

Mitch Marner scored the game-winner — and his first as a dad — 5:50 into the third period. Marner’s goal came just 17 seconds after Panthers forward Anton Lundell had tied the game 3-3.

Maple Leafs goalie Joseph Woll, starting in the place of the injured Anthony Stolarz, earned the win in his first start of this year’s Stanley Cup Playoffs.

More to come.
