Oilers don’t name starting goalie for Game 6 of Stanley Cup Final

Will the Edmonton Oilers make another goaltending change?

On Monday, coach Kris Knoblauch wasn’t ready to answer that question, declining to name a starting goalie for Game 6 of the Stanley Cup Final.

Calvin Pickard replaced Stuart Skinner after the Oilers fell behind 3-0 in the first period of Game 4 and then backstopped Edmonton to a series-tying 5-4 overtime win over the Florida Panthers.

The Oilers then gave Pickard the start for Game 5, but Edmonton lost 5-2 on home ice, giving the Panthers a 3-2 series lead heading into Tuesday’s contest in Sunrise, Fla.

Skinner is 7-6 with a 2.99 goals-against average and .891 save percentage in the playoffs, while Pickard is 7-1 with a 2.85 GAA and .886 save percentage.

Watch Game 6 Tuesday at 8 p.m. ET / 6 p.m. MT on Sportsnet or Sportsnet+.
