The Edmonton Oilers are headed back to the Western Conference Final.
They defeated the Vegas Golden Knights 1-0 in Game 5 on Wednesday night to take their second-round series 4–1.
After a scoreless 60 minutes, forward Kasperi Kapanen scored the game’s lone goal in overtime.
Stuart Skinner posted his second consecutive shutout in the series with 24 saves.
Edmonton faced the Dallas Stars in last year’s West final, which they won in six games. The Stars lead the Winnipeg Jets 3-1 in their second-round series and would set up a rematch with one more win.
More to come.
