After a sluggish opening two periods, the red-hot Edmonton Oilers dominated in the third to beat the visiting Columbus Blue Jackets 4-1 on Tuesday.
The Oilers, who were tied 1-1 after two against one of the worst teams in the NHL, have now won 14 games in a row.
The record is 17, set by the 1992-93 Pittsburgh Penguins.
Evander Kane broke the 1-1 tie at 4:53 of the third before Connor McDavid scored 55 seconds later. Dylan Holloway capped the scoring for Edmonton.
