Elias Pettersson is bringing his all-world skill to the international stage.
The Vancouver Canucks superstar was one of 17 players announced Wednesday as being added to Sweden’s roster for the 4 Nations Face-Off.
Calgary Flames defenceman Rasmus Andersson, Edmonton Oilers defenceman Mattias Ekholm and New Jersey Devils goaltender Jacob Markstrom were some of the other notable names added to the team. Anaheim Ducks forward Leo Carlsson, who turns 20 later this month, was also named to the team.
The group joins a roster that already featured Filip Forsberg, William Nylander, Mika Zibanejad, Gustav Forsling, Erik Karlsson and Victor Hedman.
The 4 Nations Face-Off is a new best-on-best international tournament featuring teams made up of NHL players from Canada, Finland, Sweden and the United States. The tournament will run from Feb. 12 to 20 in Montreal and Boston, and all games will be available on Sportsnet and Sportsnet+.
