The Los Angeles Rams are moving on to the divisional round after defeating the Seattle Seahawks in wild-card action on Saturday.
Cam Akers’ five-yard carry for a touchdown before halftime provided the Rams with a solid lead for the second half.
Stifling defence throughout the fourth quarter put the Rams in position to secure the game, and a late 15-yard touchdown pass from Jared Goff to Robert Woods sealed the 30-20 win.
DK Metcalf scored his second touchdown of the game with just over two minutes left in the fourth, but it was not enough to save the Seahawks’ playoff hopes.
The Rams were forced to turn to Goff after starting quarterback John Wolford was hit in the head and left the game with an injured neck. Goff had thumb surgery on his throwing hand only 12 days ago, but that didn’t seem to stop him.
